President of Juan Cabrera Martín (La Palma), S.A., a family business founded in 1894, with head offices in Santa Cruz de La Palma, in the Canary Islands. The company deals with farms, housing developments and port operations.
José Cabrera has held several elected positions in the packaging industry and has consulted for companies and associations in Spain and the European Community.
He speaks regularly at Spanish and international conferences, forums and workshops on technical subjects and more general topics. He has coordinated studies on sustainability in the packaging, shipping, responsible consumption and fruit and vegetable industries.
He has been called on a number of times by Spanish and European authorities and legislators to give his views on the promotion and development of policies to help introduce sustainability as a factor of business excellence.
José Cabrera has held the presidency of the Institute for Sustainable Production since its founding in 2011.
Andreu Cruañas holds a law degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a bachelor’s degree in management from the IESE Business School (University of Navarra) and a bachelor’s degree in the executive management of public and private organizations from the ESADE Business School (Ramon Llull University).
He is a founding member of Cruañas & Asociados Consejeros, a consulting firm specializing in sector positioning, strategy, guidance and institutional communication and focusing on sustainability, human capital, labour policy and corporate social responsibility.
He has held the following government positions: secretary of Labour and Employment in the Generalitat (regional government) of Catalonia, director-general of Employment in the Generalitat of Catalonia, director of the Catalan Employment Service (SOC), vice chairman of the Catalan Vocational School Council, member of the Executive Committee of the Economic and Social Council of Catalonia and member of the Board of Governors of the Catalan Agricultural Credit Institute/Catalan Finance Institute.
He is a member of the Board of Governors of the IESE Alumni Association and a member of the “La Caixa” Financial Circle, the Club of Rome and the Equestrian Club of Barcelona.

Gema Gaspar forged her career in the field of construction and engineering services at CIS, S.A., as the company’s director of expansion from 1993 to 2002.
In 2002 she joined JC Consejeros, S.L., a firm specializing in supplying raw materials and high-tech industrial machinery, as manager of the company’s Paper Department.
An expert in packaging and renewable packing materials, Gema Gaspar has participated in numerous international meetings on certified sustainable forest cultivation.
She is currently combining her regular career activity with her job as vice president of the IPS.
Beatriz Villanueva holds a licentiate degree in journalism from the Pontifical University of Salamanca and a licentiate degree in political science from the Complutensian University of Madrid. She possesses a vast knowledge of business development and marketing strategies.
Beatriz Villanueva is the institute’s director. From that position she implements the organization’s strategic plan and takes charge of coordinating its different areas and relations with members. She also manages external communications and the institute’s public image.
Her career has always had ties to corporate communication and the implementation of sales strategies.
Guillermo Canals holds a law degree from the Complutensian University of Madrid and a degree in tax management and business studies.
For more than 30 years he has been combining the practice of law with teaching inheritance law and basic tax law at CESJE and the Business Institute.
He is a partner at VCGH Abogados (formerly Vazquez Guillen, Canals, Gaspar & Herrero), where he works in civil law and commercial/corporate law. Part of his job is to act as secretary or legal advisor to boards of directors.
Guillermo Canals is an expert in the fields of tax law and inheritance law, both of which are especially relevant in wealth management and family business consulting work.
José Mª Pena-Rich
José María Pena-Rich Möller holds a law degree from the Complutensian University of Madrid and an MBA from the London Business School.
He has been chairman and general manager of Consult Board, S.L., a director of Sonepar Ibérica, Distribución de Materiales Eléctricos, and a director of Cartera Maderera, S.L., since 2004.
He has spent his career so far in different areas of the TAFISA Group, which is in the business of making wood products. He also holds the office of general manager of Tafinsa Boards Ltd., Holz Inter, S.L., and the TAFISA Group itself.
He has been a director in Forestalia and a trade consultant for Red Tecnológica Forestal, a member of the board of directors of the forestry company Dehesa, S.A., and the board of directors of Orient Trade 2000, S.A., which engages in foreign trade with China.
He has also held the positions of president of the Spanish Wooden Board Association, president of the Spanish Federation of Wood Industries, president of the European Panel Federation and vice president of CEI Bois.
He began his professional career in 1978 in microbiological quality control for the Clin Midy Pharmaceutical Laboratory. He combined this work with teaching as a professor of microbiology and parasitology practices. He worked in microbiology in the public sector and later in the department of Immunology of the Hospital de la Princesa where he published 11 research papers in National and International Scientific journals.
In 1988 he collaborated in Supermarkets Alfaro as a consultant in quality and training, where, years later, he became a quality director.
In 1998, he joined the Carrefour Group as head of quality and of the Brand Quality Tradition Carrefour. In 2003 he was appointed Director of Quality and Sustainable Development of Carrefour Spain.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the world of distribution, specifically in quality, food safety, product development and environment. He is the author of three technical books on handling and food hygiene; of several quality assurance manuals on fresh products. He has published more than 50 articles, and taught more than 200 presentations on Brand, Quality, Food Safety, Environment and Sustainable Development.
Former Director of Quality and Sustainable Development Carrefour Spain; He has been part of the Quality and Sustainable Development Committee of the Carrefour Group; and the ANGED and ACES Food Safety and Environment Committees.
Founding member of the food safety committee of AECOC and President of the same for 12 years.
Currently, he is an Agri-Food Advisor in Quality Management and Environmental Management.
